Proud Father, Prouder Grandfather, Eternal
Basketball Coach, and Seasoned Wise Soul.
Some 20 years ago, Coach Curtin and I were at the confines of the Kellenberg Memorial High School Gym. Not only was he my coach, he informed my own coaching career, and always encouraged me to stay the game. Not to mention his perplexing philosophies the are translucent, now. On the eve of his 60th birthday, we discuss his life, his coaching career, and what life has taught him. All that and more, my conversation with
Coach Curtin, now.
“Yo nutin’ but the hotness.
Whenever we drop this.
Monotonous for ya’ll to keep hatin’,
’cause ya’ll never gon’ stop us.”
– Jadakiss
“Say say two thousand zero zero party over, oops, out of time
So tonight I’m gonna party like it’s nineteen ninety-nine“
– Prince
This pod was super special to me. Not only was he instrumental in my come up as a young man, and as a coach, he is one of the impetus to write, so much so that one of my first writings was inspired by
his own words. I present to you, The Lottery:
“What’s the odds of two human beings interacting in life, compared to all time? It’s a special thing. It’s like winning lotto 50 times.” – Richard Curtin
HAPPY 60TH BIRTHDAY, COACH CURTIN!
Until tomorrow.
