Today was a Good. Friday.
Aside from Jesus being in the tomb, only to be resurrected 2 days later, today we call Good Friday. Much to my surprise, or maybe not at all, I had a day off from officiating entirely. Which. Is. Rare. But especially in this business, we’ll take it.
“A holiday is an opportunity to journey within. It is also a chance to chill, to relax. It is when I switch on my rest mode.” – Prabhas
My son, aside from going to the park was on a mission to fix our feet, respectively: him – a toenail that is growing at a snail’s pace since it got ripped off last month. Me, I found out I had Plantar Fasciitis and did something about it. I’m tired of the pound from game to game, and from day to day. (Thanks Dr. Brook.)
After that, we were off to see another fellow ref, Jared Jacobson, who only moonlights as a ref. He really festoonly fires up cakes by the batter, to make beautiful cakes, this time, for Passover. My son reaped the benefits of a Hodge-podge in 4 scoops:
Then we went to the park, where there were people playing different sports. It took me back to the essence; my son is still in the latter stages of running the playground, not ready to play competitive street ball. But here we were, enjoying a day at the park, stealing home, and sitting on it. Thanks God for a day off!
